I used the forum a few years ago to source a 124 gearbox, and with your great help was successful. I have a 2 litre twin cam engine in a Fisher Fury, which has been absolutely brilliant. However, following a full on trip to Le Mans last June it has developed an engine speed bearing noise. Having removed the fan belt the noise is still present, and with cam belt cover removed it would appear to be coming from the cam belt tensioner pulley. Is this likely? If so where is the best place to source spare parts, and are they difficult to change out? I cannot see how the tensioner works, as it would appear that the torsion spring exerts effort between two fixed points on the same bracket . Can I obtain an exploded diagram of how this assembly should look. Lastly I have whay I believe to be the engine number as 132C20000648659 but it may only be a casting number (or which there seem to be many) I would be very grateful of any assistance from the 'better informed than me' Best regards Chunks. |

Ok, the pulley usually only last around 50000 miles before starting to break up. First signs are noise from the pulley bearing. This must be changed ASAP, to stop the belt snapping. On the top cam pulleys, there is a dot on each pulley that you align up to the timing bracket that sits between the pulleys. Now look at the Aux pulley. There is a hole in it that sits just under the tensioner nut. Make sure this Aux shaft does not rotate!! Leave it in gear or similar. Idea here, is to mark it now before cam belt is removed. the pulley and belt should be available from any Fiat Specialist, like Guy Croft, or Tanc Barratt, DTR for example. Look at the.model pages on this site. The pulley could have the bearing changed by a good engineering company, if you have trouble finding one.

And to add, the engine number relates to the Fiat 132 2000cc engine. 112bhp, 8:9-1 compression ratio.
